UK: The Torridon named ‘Most Hospitable Hotel’ in the Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards 2017

Scottish retreat The Torridon, has been named the 'Most Hospitable Hotel' in the Highlands and Islands Tourism Awards 2017.

The hotel prides itself on going the extra mile to meet guests' needs.
The Torridon also offers tailor-made experiences in a luxurious environment.

Ross Aitchison, general manager, said: "It is testament to our incredible team that we have been awarded Most Hospitable Hotel. We provide each team member with a bespoke training programme to provide them with the tools to become what we call a 'Torridon Best' and we are delighted that everyone's sterling efforts have been recognised."

Aitchison tells of staff going the extra mile to provide a memorable and comfortable experience for guests, such as when activity instructor Ryan dived into a loch to retrieve a guest's camera, when a picnic was delivered to guests who were waiting for road-side assistance, and when activities leader Charlie took a guest foraging for chantrelle mushrooms for the chef to cook for dinner.

Aitchison and Torridon Activities leader Charlie schedule a range of experiential stays for guests, allowing for a unique experience. Guests can go kayaking with seals, take afternoon tea at the top of a munro and book a private whisky tasting, amongst a range of other exciting activities.
