UK: Dale MacPhee named Hotelier of the Year

The general manager of the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh, Dale MacPhee, has won the Hotelier of the Year award at the Business Women Scotland (BWS) Women in Hospitality and Tourism Awards.

During her tenure MacPhee has overseen a refurbishment programme across the five star hotel, including the design of historic carriage rooms to honour the building's history as a railway station. She has also driven the redevelopment the hotel's restaurant, The Pompadour by Galvin.

MacPhee has also managed sustainable business initiatives across the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh. She achieved a 30% reduction in water bills and an increase in recycled waste from half to around 72%. The hotel was awarded the Trip Advisor Green Leaders Silver Award this year.

The BWS Women in Hospitality and Tourism Awards aim to recognise women working in the hospitality industry across Scotland.
